FRENCH-FRIED ZUCCHINI SLICES Print E-mail
4 servings

2 tablespoons milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon onion salt
1/8 teaspoon salt
4 small (6 inches long) zucchini, cut in 1/3-inch slices
CRISCO Shortening for deep frying


Combine milk and egg. Combine cornmeal, flour, onion salt, and salt.
Dip zucchini in milk and egg, shaking off excess. Dip in cornmeal mixture.
Heat Crisco to 365ºF in a deep saucepan or deep fryer. Fry zucchini slices in hot Crisco for 1 to 2 minutes or until golden. Serve hot.
