14-16 fritters1 can (16 ounces) whole kernel corn, drained 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup dairy sour cream 2 eggs 2 tablespoons CRISCO Oil 2 tablespoons finely-chopped onion 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon white pepper CRISCO Oil for frying Combine all ingredients except Crisco Oil for frying in medium mixing bowl. Mix well. Let stand 1 hour. Heat 2 to 3 inches Crisco Oil in deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350ºF. Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls into hot Crisco Oil. Fry a few at a time 5 to 6 minutes, or until deep golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining batter. Serve immediately or keep warm in 175ºF oven. |
