| SPICY PEAR-PORK BAKE |

Makes 6 servings6 pork loin chops, cut 3/4 inch thick 2 tablespoons flour 3/4 teaspoon salt Dash pepper 1/3 cup CRISCO 1 jar (14 ounces) spiced pear halves Ground nutmeg Preheat oven to 350ºF. Trim fat from chops. Coat chops with a mixture of the flour, salt, and pepper. In skillet, brown the chops on both sides in hot Crisco. Place chops in a 12 x 7 x 2-inch glass baking dish. Drain the spiced pears, reserving 1/2 cup syrup. Set pears aside. Pour reserved syrup over meat. Cover and bake at 350ºF for 45 minutes. Add pears and sprinkle with nutmeg. Cook in oven till heated through, 10 to 15 minutes longer. |
