4 servings5 tablespoons CRISCO Oil, divided 1/4 cup chopped onion 2 tablespoons chopped green pepper 1/2 pound ground fully-cooked ham 1/4 pound ground pork 1 egg, slightly beaten 1/2 cup unseasoned dry bread crumbs, divided 2 teaspoons dry mustard Mustard Sauce (optional) Heat 2 tablespoons Crisco Oil in large skillet. Add onion and green pepper. Sauté over moderate heat until tender. Transfer to medium mixing bowl. Add ground ham, ground pork, egg, 1/4 cup bread crumbs and mustard. Mix well. Set aside. Spread remaining 1/4 cup bread crumbs on plate or sheet of waxed paper. Place one-fourth ham mixture on bread crumbs. Flatten to form 1/2-inch thick patty. Coat both sides with bread crumbs, pressing to coat thoroughly. Repeat with remaining ham mixture. Heat remaining 3 tablespoons Crisco Oil in large skillet. Add ham patties. Fry over moderate heat 8 to 10 minutes, or until firm, turning over once. Serve with Mustard Sauce (optional). |
