| GRILLED ASIAN PORK |

Preparation time: 15 minutes Total time: 1 hour 10 minutes 6 servings 6 tablespoons CRISCO Oil 3 teaspoons jarred minced garlic (or 2 medium garlic cloves, peeled and minced) 1 -1/2 to 4-1/2 teaspoons curry powder 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger 3 tablespoons soy sauce 1/3 cup dark brown sugar 1 -1/2 pound pork loin, trimmed of all fat and sliced 1/4-inch thick 12 long bamboo or metal skewers Combine Crisco Oil, garlic, curry, ginger, soy sauce and brown sugar in resealable plastic bag or mixing bowl. Add sliced pork. Refrigerate for 45 minutes, tightly covered with plastic wrap. If using bamboo skewers, soak in water to cover. While meat is marinating, prepare grill or heat broiler. Thread meat onto skewers. Discard marinade. Grill skewers 3 minutes. Turn gently with tongs. Grill other side 3 minutes, or until pork is brown on outside and no longer pink in center. Serve immediately. Note: Boneless skinless chicken breast or lean steak such as flank steak can be marinated and grilled in same manner. For beef, cook to desired degree of doneness. For chicken, grill until chicken is no longer pink in center. |
