| EASY BEEF SLICES |

4 Servings1 egg, well beaten 2 tablespoons milk 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 8 slices cooked beef, cut about 1/8-inch thick 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup CRISCO Shortening 8 slices (6 ounces) American pasteurized process cheese food 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce Combine egg, milk, salt, mustard, and pepper in a bowl. Combine bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese. Dip beef slices in flour to coat on both sides. Dip in egg mixture and coat well. Dip in bread crumb mixture to coat on both sides. Melt Crisco in s large skillet. Add 4 coated beef slices; brown over medium heat for 1 minute on each side. Transfer to a cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining slices. Top each slice with a slice of cheese. Spoon tomato sauce over cheese. Place under broiler 4 to 6 inches from heat. Broil for 2-1/2 to 3 minutes until cheese is melted and sauce is hot. |
