4-6 Servings3 tablespoons CRISCO Shortening, divided 1 pound ground beef 1 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped green pepper 1 can (17 ounces) cream-style corn 1 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs 1/8 teaspoon paprika Preheat oven to 350ºF. Melt 2 tablespoons Crisco in a heavy skillet and brown ground beef. Add onion and green pepper and cook until tender. Drain mixture thoroughly and turn into a 1-1/2-quart casserole. Stir in corn, salt, and pepper. Melt remaining 1 tablespoon Crisco in the same skillet and lightly brown bread crumbs (about 5 minutes). Top casserole with crumbs. Bake at 350ºF for 25 to 30 minutes or until heated. Remove from oven and sprinkle with paprika. |
