| SURPRISE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES |

Makes about 7-1/2 dozen cookies1 cup Butter Flavor Crisco all-vegetable shortening or 1 Butter Flavor Crisco stick 1 cup Jif Extra Crunchy Peanut Butter 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar 2 eggs 1 -1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup whole wheat flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 chocolate covered crunchy peanutty candy bars (2.1ounces each) ,coursely crushed Toasted wheat germ Combine Butter Flavor Crisco and peanut butter in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar and eggs at low speed. Beat until well blended. Combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda and baking powder. Add gradually to creamed mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in crushed bars with spoon. Cover. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease baking sheet with Butter Flavor Crisco. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Dip fork in wheat germ, flatten dough slightly in crisscross pattern. Bake at 350ºF for 8 to 10 minutes or just until beginning to brown around edges. Cool 1 minute before removing to foil. |
