PECAN BALLS Print E-mail
Makes about 4 Dozen Cookies

1 cup Butter Flavor CRISCO or 1 Butter Flavor CRISCO Stick
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons milk or water
1 -1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 -3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
1/2 cup finely chopped pecan s
1/4 teaspoon salt
Confectioners' sugar


Heat oven to 325ºF. Combine Butter Flavor Crisco, 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.
Combine flour, oats, nuts and salt. Add gradually to creamed mixture at low speed. Beat until well blended. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 325ºF for 15 to 18 minutes or until bottoms are light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Roll in sugar while warm. Cool completely on cooling rack. Reroll in sugar.*

*Variation: Roll in confectioners' sugar only once. Melt 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon Butter Flavor Crisco. Drizzle over cookies.
