Makes about 5 Dozen Cookies3/4 cup Butter Flavor Crisco - all-vegetable shortening or 3/4 Butter Flavor Crisco stick 1 -1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons milk 3 eggs 2 -1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 3/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves 1 cup raisins 3/4 cup chopped walnuts Powdered sugar Heat oven to 400ºF. Combine Butter Flavor Crisco, sugar and milk in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Add eggs one at a time . Beat well after each addition. Combine flour, salt, cinnamon, baking soda, nutmeg and cloves. Mix into creamed mixture at low speed just until blended. Stir in raisins and nuts. Drop level tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400ºF for 7 to 8 minutes, or until set. Remove immediately to cooling rack. Sift powdered sugar over cooled cookies. |
