Fills and frosts two 8- or 9-inch layers1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup milk 3/4 cup Butter Flavor Crisco all-vegetable shortening or 3/4 Butter Flavor Crisco stick 1-1/4 cups sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla In small saucepan, combine flour and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Heat to boiling; cook, stirring constantly, for 5 to 8 minutes, or until very thick. Cool completely. In medium bowl, combine Butter Flavor Crisco, sugar, and vanilla. Add thickened mixture. Beat on high speed of electric mixer for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and creamy. Spread on cooled cake. |
