Makes 3 dozen1/2 cup CRISCO Shortening 3/4 cup sugar 4 egg yolks, well beaten 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup all-purpose flour Sugar for tops Cream Crisco and sugar in a bowl. Add egg yolks gradually while beating. Blend in salt. Add flour in halves, mixing until blended after each addition. Chill thoroughly (about 2 hours). Preheat oven to 350ºF. Using rounded teaspoon of dough for each cookie, drop dough about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets; flatten each with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350ºF for about 8 minutes. Cool cookies on racks. |
