| COCONUT CREAM CHEESE COOKIES |

Makes 5 dozen cookies 1 cup Butter Flavor CRISCO Shortening or 1 Butter Flavor Crisco Stick 6 ounces cream cheese, softened 1 cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon almond extract 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 large egg 2 tablespoons milk 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup toasted flaked coconut Heat oven to 325ºF. Combine shortening, cream cheese, sugar, almond extract, vanilla and salt in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until well blended. Beat in egg and milk until well blended. Add flour and coconut; mix well. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 325ºF for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheets 4 minutes; transfer to cooling racks. |
