| CHOCOLATE-ORANGE CHIP COOKIES |

Makes about 3-1/2 Dozen Cookies1/2 cup Butter Flavor Crisco all-vegetable shortening or 1/2 Butter Flavor Crisco stick 1 -1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar 2 squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled 1 egg 2 tablespoon orange juice concentrate 2 tablespoons grated orange peel 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 -1/2 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup blanched slivered almonds Heat oven to 375ºF. Combine Butter Flavor Crisco, sugar and melted chocolate in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Beat in egg, concentrate, peel and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Mix into creamed mixture at low speed until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375ºF for 7 to 9 minutes, or until set. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to cooling rack. |
