CHOCOLATE FUDGE PIE Print E-mail
Preparation time: about 30 minutes
Baking time: about 40 minutes
One 9-inch Pie

Unbaked 9-inch Classic CRISCO Double Pie Crust
1/4 cup CRISCO all-vegetable shortening or 1/4 CRISCO stick
1 bar (4 ounces) sweet cooking chocolate
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup flake coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
Unsweetened whipped cream


Heat oven to 350ºF.
For filling, melt Crisco Shortening and chocolate in heavy saucepan on low heat. Remove from heat. Stir in milk, eggs, vanilla, salt, and flour. Mix well. Stir in coconut and nuts. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
Bake at 350ºF for 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely on rack before cutting.
Serve with unsweetened whipped cream or scoops of ice cream, if desired. Refrigerate leftovers.
