Makes about 4 Dozen Bars Cookie Base 2/3 cup sugar 1/2 cup Butter Flavor Crisco - all-vegetable shortening or 3/4 Butter Flavor Crisco stick 1/4 cup cocoa 1 egg 1 tablespoon water 1 -1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt Filling 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated Milk) 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon extract vanilla 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 2/3 cup chopped walnuts 1/2 cup flake coconut Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan with Butter Flavor Crisco. For cookie base, combine sugar, Butter Flavor Crisco, cocoa, egg and water in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Combine 1-1/4 cups flour and salt. Add gradually to creamed mixture at low speed. Beat just until blended. Press into bottom of greased pan. Bake at 350ºF for 10 minutes. For filling, combine condensed milk, 3 tablespoons flour and vanilla. Stir with spoon until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips, nuts and coconut. Spoon over baked cookie base. Spread carefully to cover. Return to oven. Bake 20 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars about 1-1/2 x 1-1/2-inches. |
