Makes about 6-1/2 Dozen Cookies1 -1/4 cups Butter Flavor Crisco all-vegetable shortening or 1 1/4 Butter Flavor Crisco stick 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3 tablespoons maple syrup 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 -3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 3 cups quick oats (not instant or old fashioned) 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 2 candy bars (2.1 ounces each) Butterfinger, cut into 1/4-inch pieces Heat oven to 375ºF. Grease baking sheet with Butter Flavor Crisco. Combine Butter Flavor Crisco, brown sugar, granulated sugar, syrup, egg and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Mix into creamed mixture at low speed until just blended. Stir in oats, 1 cup at a time, with spoon. Stir in chocolate chips and candy pieces. Form dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake at 375ºF for 7 minutes for chewy cookies, 9 minutes for crisper cookies. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to cooling rack. |
