Makes 32 bars1 cup Butter Flavor Crisco all-vegetable shortening or 1 Butter Flavor Crisco stick 1-1/2 cups sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 2/3 cup milk 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup cocoa 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup chopped walnuts Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Set aside. In medium mixing bowl cream Butter Flavor Crisco, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add milk, flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Beat at low speed of electric mixer until blended. Beat at high speed for 1 minute. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350ºF for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool. Frost, if desired. Cut into bars, about 2 x 1-1/2 inches. |
