| BASIC COOKIE FROSTING |

Makes 3/4 cup3 tablespoons Butter Flavor Crisco all-vegetable shortening or 3 tablespoons Butter Flavor Crisco stick 1-1/4 cups confectioners' sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla Dash salt 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 teaspoons half-and-half or milk 1 to 2 drops food coloring (optional) In small mixing bowl blend Butter Flavor Crisco, confectioners' sugar, vanilla and salt. Blend in half-and-half to desired consistency. Beat until smooth. Blend in food coloring. Spread on cooled cookies. Chocolate Cookie Frosting: Follow the recipe above, adding 2 tablespoons cocoa with the confectioners' sugar. Increase half-and-half to 1 tablespoon plus 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 teaspoons. |
