from Scott Fine's Great GrillingFor the Sauce: Juice of 1 lemon 1/4 cup soy sauce 1 teaspoon Korean chili pepper sauce (Ko chao jung) 1/2 teaspoon instant oriental soup stock (dashi, found in Japanese grocery store) 1 cup freshly grated daikon (Oriental radish) 1 bunch green onions, cut into 2-inch slices 1-1/2 pounds sirloin tip, sliced very thinly 5 tablespoons Vegetable Oil 12 fresh shiitake mushrooms, sliced 1/2 pound fresh bean sprouts, washed 1 large yellow onion, peeled and sliced Blend all sauce ingredients together in a small bowl. Ladle out sauce into 4 individual bowls and top each portion with 1/4 cup daikon and 1 tablespoon green onions. At the table, in an electric skilletor outside using a grill wok on the grillbrush the beef slices and vegetables with a little of the vegetable oil and cook on both sides until done. Dip cooked meat and vegetables in sauce as desired. |
