APPLESAUCE NUT BREAD Print E-mail
Makes one loaf bread

1 cup sugar
1 cup applesauce
1/4 cup CRISCO Oil
3 egg whites
3 tablespoons skim milk
2 cups sifted enriched flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped walnuts


Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Combine sugar, applesauce, Crisco Oil, egg whites and skim milk in large bowl. Mix thoroughly.
Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Combine until all ingredients are well blended. Stir in chopped walnuts.
Spread batter in oiled and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan.
Bake at 350ºF for 60 to 70 minutes.
