Makes 3 dozen
Prep time: 25 minutes
Bake time: 15-18 minutes

1 tablespoon instant minced onion
1 tablespoon water
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cayenne, or more to taste
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup Butter Flavor Crisco all-vegetable shortening or 1/2 Butter Flavor Crisco stick
3 to 4 tablespoons cold water
Salt to taste

Preheat oven to 375ºF. In small dish combine onion and water. Set aside for 5 minutes.
In medium mixing bowl combine Pillsbury BEST flour, salt, cayenne, Cheddar and Parmesan cheese. Cut in Butter Flavor Crisco to form coarse crumbs. Stir in onion mixture. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing with fork until particles are moistened and cling together. Form dough into ball.
On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 2-inch diameter log; slice into 1/8-inch thick slices. Sprinkle with salt to taste. Transfer cutouts to ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375ºF for 12 to 15 minutes, or until light golden brown. Cool. Store in covered container.
